Position: Business Development Manager - Microelectronics

Location: The main territory is the Continental United States, and will focus on our industrial and high purity products portfolio. Candidate can live anywhere in the Continental United States, provided it is near a major airport.

Compensation: Base salary + monthly commission plan + year end bonus

Job Summary

  • This strategic role involves driving profitable sales growth by identifying and developing sales opportunities within the microelectronics verticals, with a primary focus in semiconductor manufacturing market.
  • As a liaison to our salesforce and distribution channel partners, responsibilities include building the sales pipeline, through targeted demand creation efforts.Key objectives include identifying, educating, and supporting the engineers and technical influencers responsible for buying decisions, within these markets.
  • This position will work in alignment with our field district sales managers, channel partners, and corporate sales management to ensure that annual company budgeted goals are met.
  • As a technical product expert, this individual will conduct sales presentations and product trainings to engineers, customer groups, and product end users.
  • Other important facets of this role involve strategic market analysis, new product development initiatives that can include working with our technical services and marketing teams.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the pre-sales process by developing strong relationships with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction companies positioning Asahi/America as the preferred vendor.
  • Build and maintain consultative relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders to foster long-term business partnerships.
  • Consult companies on material choice, specification possibilities, and our manufacturing capabilities.
  • Continuously assess and report on sales cycle activity, pipeline development and sales goal tracking through the use of the CRM tool and ongoing communication to senior management.
  • Support adjacent marketing activities and integrate into sales initiatives such as, product launches, promotions, training/educational sessions.Develop above market growth strategy through targeted selling, market expansion, and new customer acquisition derived from end market opportunities.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on market and competitor activities, as well as generate ideas or solutions to recognized market challenges or risks.
  • Communicate, liaise and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships in accordance with primary plans and objectives.
  • Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development.
  • Attend training to continuously develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.
  • Stay up to date on industry and market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies to identify innovative business opportunities
  • A minimum of 50% travel is required.

Qualifications

  • Passion to build relationships and the ability to inspire institutions, decision-makers, and stakeholders from your ideas.
  • Strong verbal and presentation skills including analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Industrial B2B sales experience with responsibilities for multiple sales channels – direct, distribution, OEM, etc. preferred.
  • Display the ability to maintain focus on annual set goals and objectives, while balancing day-to-day activities.
  • Possess the necessary experiences and skills that can help to Identify, monitor, and research market conditions and trends.
  • Proven track record of growing strategic business market segments, and an ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated successes in goal achievement when placed in dynamic business environments.
  • Action oriented and a style conducive to entrepreneurial leadership.
  • Well-developed organizational and interpersonal skills. A self-starting and self-motivating individual, capable of working in a small company atmosphere.
  • Must have intermediate / advanced computer skills in Salesforce, or similar CRM software and Microsoft Office programs

Education

  • A minimum of 10 years of technical, direct sales, or business development experience within the Microelectronics Industry.
  • Ideal candidate will have a degree in Business, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience in equipment, systems, and supporting processes within the microelectronics industry is a plus.
