Solutions in the Water/Wastewater Industry

Our most important and precious resource is water. Asahi/America's largest market is water treatment for a reason. Customers know it's the right choice. When building a new facility or upgrading an existing facility, the owners know the importance of doing the job correct the first time. Asahi/America is that choice. We have engineering service and products to satisfy the most demanding customers. Downtime, repairs and maintenance will be a things of the past when Asahi/America's products are handling chemical feed, membrane fouling and disinfection processes in the water treatment plant and flocculation, coagulation, chlorination and de-chlorination processes in the wastewater treatment plant.

Water & Wastewater

As our population increases, the water and waste water industry continues to expand and so does it's vitality to our existence. Producing safe drinking water and treating waste water requires various chemicals that require the appropriate corrosion-resistant piping materials to handle these harsh applications. Asahi/America has the experience along with the pipe and valve products that are required to keep these plants in safe operation.

Disinfection

Applications

Everyone has problems with leaking PVC and CPVC piping for sodium hypochlorite as well as other liquid disinfection chemicals. This is especially bad when the pipe in buried. Most contractors will just keep repairing the leaks until they finally decide to replace the entire piping system. Chem Proline® and Chem Prolok® solves these problems – no more repairs – no more replacements.

Chemical Feed Systems

Applications

Sodium hypochlorite is known to have detrimental effects on a solvent joined PVC/CPVC system. Our Chem Proline® Advanced PE piping material handles this aggressive chemical and the socket and butt fused joint is as strong as the pipe with no leak path. Available in single wall and double containment piping, this highly engineered plastic material offers many years of maintenance-free operation.

Membrane Cleaning

Applications

Cleaning the membranes in reverse osmosis is typically achieved with sulfuric acid. This hazardous and corrosive acid requires the correct pipe and valve material to ensure safe delivery of this chemical. The water industry uses this chemical in various concentrations. Asahi/America has the experience and expertise to help you select the proper pipe and valve material to meet your individual requirements in this application.

Sparging

Applications

Metal spargers have a limited life expectancy. Corrosion caused by the environment or the sparging media (like sodium hypochlorite) is the main issue with metal materials. Chem Proline® handles air or chemical sparging applications with ease.

Engineered Metering Pumps

Applications

Asahi/America's partner, ProMinent® Fluid Solutions has developed a leak-free system featuring Asahi/America's Advanced PE Chem Proline® piping, fittings and valves. Their system offers a completely thread-less solution, which eliminates potential leak paths. Conventional PVC, CPVC or metal piping on skids utilize threaded connections to integrate necessary process equipment and controls.

ProMinent's® Leak-Free Systems feature fusion welded Polyethylene (Advanced PE) piping and fittings. All systems are custom engineered or pre-engineered (standard) with single or primary-backup solenoid or motor pump configurations. Available in 1/4” through 1-1/2” pipe diameters, Leak-Free Systems handle precisely metered fluids in a wide range of capacities according to the ProMinent® solenoid or motor-driven metering pumps at the heart of each solution.
